Girl assaulted by an Auto driver in Battala, police silent

AGARTALA, August 22 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, an auto driver on Friday assaulted Minakshi Deb on the issue of fare.

However, it has been alleged that when the girl went to lodge FIR against the auto driver, the police of West Women Police Station did not register.

According to the report, the West Women Police on Friday unfurled their real face which was hidden under a veil of good look after Miniakshi Deb went to the Police Station to register FIR against and the police allegedly did not register any complaint.

Talking to the media, Minakshi Deb said that she is a student of Tripura University and a resident of Nutan Bazaar.

She said that she has taken the auto from Panchaboti. Further, she said that when she reached to Battala she had some argument with the auto driver on the issue of fare.

After a burning argument, the auto driver assaulted the girl. After that she also slapped him.

After the incident police took the girl and the auto driver to the West Women Police Station where the police asked to wait for a long time.

It has been alleged that waiting for a long time when she asked the police to register complain the police refuse to do it.

However, day after day the auto drivers are harassing the public under the bright day light but the police is playing a role of silent spectator.
