AGARTALA, August 20 (TIWN): In the name of investigation of Chit Funds /Non-banking financial companies ( NBFCs), lakhs of money are being drained out from state government exchequer. On direction from high court, the state government has constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate against NBFCs. A team of six members of SIT left for Guwahati and Kolkata for investigation on Wednesday, all expenditure be made by State Government. This is second tour of the team outside the state. During the first tour they investigated if the NBFCs was registered under companies’ registration Act and collected name, address of NBFCs officials. On second tour, reportedly found out the whereabouts of the officials, it is doubtful if the visiting team will ever find the NBFCs officials. Besides , there is no time frame when will the team return after investigation. CID Superintendent Sanjay Roy is heading the SIT, till date there was no headway in the investigation. Not a single official of NBFCs could be summoned by the team for investigation. It is open secret that during the rule of Left Front government in the state, the chit fund companies flourished like anything.During the second left front rule Two chit funds – Sanchani and seven sisters duped thousands of investors in the state.

They fled away from the state with crores of money of the investors. Then also CID investigated, but the result was zero.Again under the rule of Manik Sarkar not only two chit funds  – hundreds of such companies  started functioning in the state. Those companies reportedly had the direct and indirect support CPI (M) leaders and Ministers.

Its a well known fact that Minister Bijita Nath was an active Rose Valley Chit Fund agent just like many other CPM leaders and Ministers.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar certainly feels like demi-god and functions like the modern era king of Tripura. Not only thats Chief Minister knows how to protect   allhis corrupt aides like BDO Bimal Chakraborty who has swindled several crores in Rs 51 crores Bisalgarh MGNREGA scam but  Tripura Police under instruction from demi-god  did not file chargesheet wthin 180 days which resulted in corrupt BDO Bimal's release from jail.
