AGARTALA, August 6 (TIWN): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Wednesday staged road blockade for one and half hour in front of the Kathaltali Higher Secondary School demanding to bring back the Head Mistress, enraged students also locked gate of the school out of furious.

Along with the protest the students of the school also have boycotted classes in the school.

Altogether 300 students have staged the blockade which has started from 10:30 am in the morning.

According to the report, HM Papiya Debbarma raised protest against the corruption going on in the mid-day meal few months back. Knowing about the embezzlement in the mid-day meal she protested against it and took an initiative to stop it.

It has been said that the materials of the mid-day meal was provided to the school by the CPI-M cadres.

According to the report of ABVP, earlier the CPI-M cadres use to distribute half of the materials of the mid-day meal, and the remaining materials they use to take along with them.

When the HM Papiya Debbarma came to know about the embezzlement going on in the mid-meals, she stopped to take the materials from them.

After knowing about the embezzlement she herself started to collect the materials from the ration without depending on the cadres.

With the efficient initiatives, she had saved around Rs. 20, 000 in two months.

BJP State Secretary Tapas Majumder said that as the CPI-M cadres could not continue their task of embezzlement any more in the school intentionally transferred Debbarma to the Teliamura School.

The students also alleged that earlier the benches and the windows of the school were theft.
