AGARTALA, August 3 (TIWN): Construction of underground foundation of pillar is completed for at least two pillars at Battala and frame structure for 1 pillar is already set up with the help of steel bars and cement concrete. With the ongoing days, the construction of the fly-over work is underway in full swing from Battala to Drop gate area with the aim to complete the entire work by 30 months as fixed by the Tripura government. However, the soil testing work is currently in progress at the mentioned route and is likely to take the stretch towards Fire brigade Chowmuhni very soon. The soil testing is already completed at Bordowali area and is going in full fleged manner at Milan Sangha area. At present the entrusted Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) has undertaken the soil testing work in at least 10 spots from Battala to Drop Gate amongst which 4 to 5 has been completed.

The flyover was a long term demand of the city dwellers and it needs to be introduced soon to contain heavy traffic congestion which is increasing along with the moving hands of the clock.

Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path which is expected to reduced the traffic congestion.

The first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles.

According to the section of city dwellers fly over bridge, would be blessing for the people living in Agartala city, as the pupils can never be on time in their office or school due to the tremendous traffic issue. Mainly the Battala station, which have junction of more than four roads passing and connecting to a single road have been causing the maximum traffic jam.

The main motive of creating the Fly-Over Bridge is to seek solution to hectic traffic jam at Battala. As day by day the population and the number of vehicles are increasing, the problems arise in traffic system too.

The flyover, which would start from Drop Gate (Fire Service office), would touch Fire Brigade Chowmuhani via Battala. A subway of the fly over will be created up to Melarmath. As per the layout of the project, the Banayan tree and the temple at Battala will be remained untouched by the fly over.
