SABROOM August 2 (TIWN): Disaster Management Team headed by DCM Sajal Das clearing landslides to reach Chitabari,under Sabroom Sub Division. The village disconnected due to heavy rain and landslides today evening. As per the public and the panchayats concerned, the landslides that took place on July 30 had affected the people and students of Chitabari after heavy shower.
The inspection team comprising members of disaster management committee, panchayats, zilla members and senior citizens, the public and panchayats decided to reach the spot along with line department as soon as possible to assess the damage and sort out the problems of the affected area.
Speaking to TIWN, the public complained that the area MLA has yet to visit the affected area. Over eight households have been affected by the landslides.
There are chances that more households and ICDS centre may be affected by the landslide, said the villagers adding that they need a permanent solution to their problem. They further said that kids walking to the ICDS centre were facing problem to reach the centre as the Village Road has been swept away by the rain triggered slides. To add to the woe, electric supply has been snapped at Chitabari Village due to damage of electric post and wires, and so has the water supply affected.
