AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): The rain fury continued unabated in Agartala and it suburb areas for past two days throwing normal life out of gear. Swollen rivers threatened villages on the banks. The river bank of Boldakhal has broken with the flow of water and has entered the houses of the residents. The similar witnessed at Srilanka Slum area, Bitarbon near Katakhal and many other areas.Reportedly, low-lying areas have been submerged in rainwater while there is rise in water level in Boldakhal. It's yet another season of rains and the same story in Tripura. Heavy rainfall in Agartala has led to water logging in several parts of the city. The rainfall has led to water logging in several parts of the city, with areas like Sakuntala road, Aralia, Shibnagar and many more.The picture may take a dire turn as the depression is well marked.

It has been raining incessantly in the maximum part of city for over 24 hours. The situation is likely to get worsen with even more rainfall predicted for Monday.

Metrological forecast indicated that there will heavy shower in next 24hrs in the state followed by wind.

Seasonal rains in the last two-three days in Tripura have damaged crops and orchards, causing a loss of about lakhs of rupees.

Several spells of light rain and heavy downpour for last three days has spelt doom for farmers in parts of Tripura.
The wheat, mustard and potato crops have been extensively damaged as fields are overflowing with rain water in many parts of the state.

Heavy rains in recent weeks have damaged crops across North India with farmers suffering heavy losses. Several farmers, who took loans for farming, were deprived at large from a minimum profit. During the last couple of days rains have damaged the production of vital vegetables with the farmers keeps hand-head across the rural areas of the state like, Sonamura, Kamalpur, Killa, Manu, Julaibari, Melagarh, Khowai, Charilam, Dharmanagar including others.  The vital production like tomatoes, potatoes, watermelon cultivation and others have been damaged at large due to the monsoon rain.

Potato farmers in the remote locations are having a harrowing time as seasonal rains created havoc on standing crops. The situation has become grim as there witnessed a hefty loss for the farmers.

The people are spending days in critical conditions after flood water inundated into the houses of the people.
