KHOWAI, June 15 (TIWN): Corruption looms large at Khowai PWD department; when the news of massive unprofessional conduct came forward from Khowai PWD department.

According to our source, for past 9 years Chaya Rani Deb, resident of Khowai Lalchora area was appointed as Group-D employee under Kowai PWD, was not going to office and was continuously receiving the salary every month sitting at her home.

Reportedly, Chaya Rani was not going to office for past 9 years and to our surprise, a middle aged man identified as Jagadish Roy, who is also a neighbor of chaya Rani was working in place of her and was receiving compensation money as salary.

As per our source, an UDC clerk of Khowai PWD department Bidya Debbarma was helping Chaya Rani behind the desk unaware of the knowledge of officials of the department. However, it is alleged that Bidya Debbarma along with Jagadish Roy always went to the house of Chaya Rani Deb on every weekend and took her signature in the employees register and made it possible for Chaya Rani Deb to continue her job. Every month she continuously received the handsome amount of salary from the department without going to office for a single day.

Taking to Khowai PWD Executive engineer Pankaj Sutradhar stated that he is completely unaware of this issue and he will soon begin the investigation in this issue and will take the necessary action.  

Now question arise how can someone else work in some other place that too under the eye of higher officials of department.  This is completely an outcome of the negligence from the part of the department which has lead to such an unauthentic condition.
