KAILASHAHAR, May 30 (TIWN): A total of Rs. 70 lakh went into vain when a mobile medical service remained non-functional after providing services for 2-3 times at the Kailashahar area, confirmed sources.
Further, it has been enhanced that at present the medical mobile van has been lying non-functional at the office premises of District Magistrate. According to the report, former Unakuti DM Abhishek Chandra took the initiative to start the mobile medical van service to improve the quality of life by providing adequate medical amenities for those who find primary health care expensive and unaffordable.
District Magistrate Mrinal Kanti Nath said that as there has been no necessity to function in the area, the mobile medical van has been kept non-operational. He further enhanced that he had sent a letter to Dr. Alok Dewan of Kumarghat District Hospital to take the responsibility of the mobile medical van but due to the maintenance burden he refused to grant it.
As per the sources report, the mobile medical service contained ECS machine, it also had facility to do blood test any many other medical services which could have been beneficial for the people residing over there.
Now the question arises that when there was no need of many mobile medical van why this sort of initiatives have been taken and miss used the public fund.
Detailing about the issue, sources further said that the Mobile medical van service was inaugurated in the year 2013 by Minister Tapan Chakraborty at Kailashahar Circuit house.
