AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): With the delay in REGA payment rocked the entire state on the month of April, the ruling CPI-M recently on its press communiqué of 2 days state committee meeting has blamed the Narendra Modi led govt. at the centre saying that the sudden change in the REGA payment procedure by the centre has deprived the workers here in Tripura. Leaving no stone unturned the ruling CPI-M and its Left front govt. managed to wash their hand from shouldering responsibility from the deprivation of MGNREGA workers here in the state. During the 2 days state committee meeting which concluded on Sunday the CPI-M reviewing its ADC poll vote percentage declined to 10 per cent stated on its press communiqué that the Left opposition political parties had played a conspiracy against the CPI-M in wake of the 7th ADC elections held recently. It said that the conspiracy has lead a large section voters to take the law and order in their own hand in the name of protest over the delay in REGA payment before the ADC poll. As a result maximum voters falling on a trap of such conspiracy has not voted for the CPI-M due to which the vote percentage has declined this year.
Earlier CPI-M leaders alleged that earlier the then UPA central govt. had launched Electronic Fund Management System (EFMS) for ever states in order to pay the REGA wages to the workers, but the present BJP govt. at the centre had suddenly changed the system to Public Fund Management System (PFMS) with effect from April 1, 2015, without making any contact to the states including Tripura.
“This has brought a major hurdle for the state govt. here to pay the REGA wages to the workers,” the leader said. He also alleged that the central govt. is wholly responsible for the delay of the NREGA payment.
It is worthy to be mentioned here that when a series of questions raised against the delay in REGA payment recently as how come inspite of available fund with the state govt. the workers across the state are deprived from their wages since more than 4 months?, the CPI-M leader coming down heavily on the media persons here said, “A section of media in the state are trying to frame a false information against the state govt.” He however, appealed the media to floor a news based on fact rather than highlighting a false news items on delay of REGA payment.
