AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): Overall scenario of crime against women in Tripura, is most alarming and these tiny state have been turning for serious concern for good and common people and specially to women, girls, housewives.
Though the only leftist rule state in country, the Tripura, which is led by Manik Sarkar, a politburo member of CPM, have been repeatedly claiming that Tripura is passing through golden age and all citizen specially women are completely safe in terms of security. Tripura, 2nd smallest state of country having population of nearly 38 lakhs in which respectively 1,799,541 female and 1,874,376 male as per 2001 census. According to latest census report its sex ratio is 960 out of 1000 males.Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who is also looking after home department have been saying repeatedly that Tripura is only state in country where every citizen is safe in terms of security. Female have been returning their home even at 11pm without anxiety. According to Chief Minister Tripura a golden heaven for Women.
But Chief Minister s claim is how far true? Or factual? Whether his claim is just eyewash?

This northeastern state consists with the area 10,486 Sq.km that is almost bounded by Bangladesh in 3 side’s .Its undoubtedly a good sign that its literacy rate has seen upward trend. According to statistics male and female literacy rate is respectively 91.53% and 78.98%.

These questions have arisen following a written reply that was tabled in the Assembly. What is saying Home Department statistics? According to recent document   Tripura  witnessed all together 616 numbers incidents of Crime against Women during August 2014 to 31st January 2015.
In the  written reply that was placed before the house to the just concluded Assembly session, the Chief
Minister Manik Sarkar who is holding Home department   informed house that  there were 616 incidents of Crime Against Women were recorded in the state during August 2014 to 31st January 2015.
According to written reply there were 107 rape case were recorded in various police stations.63 women were murdered and 49 women were kidnapped during August 2014 to 31st January 2015.
House was also informed that 270 number cases were registered related with molestations and 13 housewives were murdered related with dowry.
Not only these 114 dowry related torture cases were registerd in various police stations. Commenting over the fate of women in State opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said as per NCRB Tripura is a state where women’s are Helpless.
He informed that National Women Commission has issued show cause notice to Tripura Govt asking them  why govt is failure to protect the women? The National Commission for Women has also asked detailed report to state govt .
Mr Roy Barman opined and alleged that Tripura led’s the other states so far Crime against Women .Lambasting the left Front Govt he said the govt is not serious to prevent the crime against women.
According to furnished reply ration of the crime against women have been rising alarming in Tripura.Facts said ration of the crime against women was 37% during 2011.But the ratio jumed in the following next year that is in 2012. 86.95% incidents of crime against women were recorded in the year 2012. In 2013 the ratio went up that is to 89.75%.But 2014 established highest record in terms of crime against women. Altogether 90.02% crime against women were recorded in various  police station. Though police-people ratio in Tripura ,Manipur and Mizoram is highest compare to national level. These entire 3 states ratio is 196 police per lakh.
Sudhindra Das Gupta, state unit president of BJP opined that until or unless police administration is free from the grip of ruling CPI-M,  crime against women rate would definitely increase.  Das Gupta said
crime against women would definitely increase as the culprits are the either supporter or worker of ruling CPM party.Thats why knowing the identity of criminals police is not taking action against the criminals who committing crimes.
But ruling CPM is different .According to its spokesperson Govt and its police force are doing at their best to combat the situation.
During Interaction D. C. Hwrankhal ,MLA  most part of the northeast people are Mongolian clan. In the Mongolian society women are the family head and they are running business and maintains
families. In agriculture women’s rule are vital. Every body respect women. But in Tripura women are the worst victim of rape, murder, and molestations’ Hwrankhawal ,a well known and honest politician informed that most victim tribe women always  avoid police station apprehending unnecessary police harassments. For that reason most of the incidents never reported to police stations said MLA who hails from hand to mouth family.
