State level seminar of Tripura Municipal Workers Organization ends on Sunday

AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): State level seminar of Tripura Municipal Workers Organization has ended on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, CEM of TTAADC Radhacharan Debbarma said that, the then Central UPA Government during last year had played step motherly attitude with the TTAADC.

Clarifying the fact, Radhacharan said that TTAADC had demanded town committee and Municipal Council in ADC area. But no response had been paid to their demand. While Minister Manik Dey said that the municipal workers would work more effectively to bring Tripura into the world’s corner.

Earlier, yesterday, Mayor of Municipal Corporation, Prafullajit Sinha inaugurated the two days seminar at Umakanta Academy. The leaders of the organization while delivering speech say that, More than 600 municipal workers are keeping the city clean day and night. Besides, 30,000 labourers are also being engaged occasionally under the urban job schemes — Tripura Urban Employment Programme, to clean the city." 
"Daily 250 tons of solid waste is generated in the municipal areas and collected from each home and sent to the sanitary land-fill stations," he said, adding that a large number of vehicles and containers are being procured from outside the state to collect the garbage from each part of the city. 

AMC had a vital role in developing and modernizing the state and managing in its various activities. This civic administrative body administers an area of 76.5 km2. AMC is headed by Dr. Prafulla Jit Sinha the present Mayor of Agartala.
