AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Allegedly a house wife, Swapna Dey set herself on fire on Sunday morning. Sources said that she put herself on fire when her brother found her in a compromising situation with a man, Nitai Rishi Das residing near to their house.

Swapna’s mother filed an FIR alleging that Nitai along with his wife (Devi Rishi Das) and sister (Rita Das) has brutally beaten Swapna. Failed to tolerate she tried to burn herself, said sources. The incident took place at Rishipalli Para of Bhati Abhoynagar.

On the other hand, polices sources assumed that when Ranjan Dey, identified as the brother of the victim brutally beaten her, finding her in a compromising situation with their neighbour, Nitai Rishi Das, she tried to kill herself, said sources.

Detailing about the issue, sources further enhanced that Nitai Rishi Das and Swapna Dey were into extra marital affair for long time. When Nitai’s wife, Devi Rishi Das came to know about their affair a tension brewed up in their house. As the affair was continuing Nitai’s wife Devi along with her sister-in-law use to bit Swapna many a time, as per the police sources.

However, Swapna is now undergoing treatment at AGMC Hospital. Police is further investigating the case.
