Agartala, May 7 (TIWN): Health department has suspended two nurses of Agartala Government College and GB hospital for negligence of duty after nineteen days of the incident. Both nurses – senior nurse Seema Gosh and contractual nurse Amrita Saha held responsible for pushng wrong injection to a patient. The newly appointed health director K L Bhowmik has issued the suspension order on Wednesday.
It is mentionable here that on April 17 a patient admitted at medicine department in unit – 4 was pushed the wrong injection.
Whereas the injection was meant for another serious patient Vishnu Shil (22). But the suspended nurses pushed the injection to Jivan Saha ( 58) a stroke patient. leading deterioration of health. Serious resentment developed among the patient party and demanded action against the nurses.
The department constituted a four member team to inquire the incident. It may be recalled that year back four doctors and four nurses of a government medical college and hospital in Agartala after a patient's lower abdomen was opened and urethra operated on, instead of a mouth biopsy, officials said on Wednesday.
