AGARTALA, May 4 (TIWN): National Youth Project, Tripura State Council in collaboration with Border Security Force (BSF) organized seminar cum cultural program on the theme of “UNITY IN DIVERSITY-Proud to be Indian” at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Sunday.

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Jitendra Chaudhury inaugurated the seminar cum cultural program. Addressing in the seminar Jitendra Chaudhury said, Jitendra Unity in diversity is a concept of "unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation" that shifts focus from unity based on a mere tolerance of physical, cultural, linguistic, social, religious, political, ideological and/or psychological differences towards a more complex unity based on an understanding that difference enriches human interactions.

Unity in Diversity is a slogan celebrating co-operation between different groups of people in a single society and socio-ecological philosophy that describes a sense of oneness despite physical or psychological barriers.  UNITY IN DIVERSITY-A short and common phrase heard by all educated people across the globe envelops an entire world in it. A true image of unity in diversity is presented by the people of India. There is a wide variety in here in every field ranging from sports, food habits, and languages to customs and traditions, but we all are basically one Indians under the canopy of our national flag. Our ancestors sowed the seeds of unity in our country, their followers continued to water and nurture them, Jitendra Chaudhury mentioned.

 In India people of different religions have continued to respect the ideas and values of people of other religions and hence, India has always stood up as an integrated nation ready to put its arms around everybody in this world, he added.

"Unity in diversity" is a popular motto within and among nation states, and also in political and social movements.

Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Department Sahid Chowdhury, DIG BSF Bhagat Singh Tolia and other dignitaries were present in the seminar cum cultural program.
