AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): The 22 years stint-in power of the Left front govt. here in Tripura has made nothing impossible for a section of crooked highly profiled officers with despite several allegations against them, manages to get easy escapes after corruption. But what makes the growth tale more interesting is that this time some corrupt officers had failed to save its filthy countenance behind their mask.

Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Prabir Bhattacharjee and his corrupt friend Debashish Chakroborty spared no efforts to hush up vigilance cases against them.

Prabir and Debashish reportedly tried their level best to manipulate the vigilance investigation report against them, but failed as it has been learnt that the report has already been tabled with CMO office.

Finding no inroads, the duo corrupt officers are reportedly trying their best again to influence the news items filed against them in the media house and that too seeking the help of former veteran journalist of the state Mihir Pal (name changed)..

According to report, the former journalist Mihir Pal (name changed) has been assigned to kill the vigilance enquiry against them including other Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Sanatan Talukdar and another CCF C M Debbarma. The consultant has good access to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for different reasons.

Bhattacharjee also known to be “A mischievous person” has been living his luxury livelihood since 8 to 10 years at his house built at Melarmath near CPI-M party office acquiring the land of BSNL authority illegally. His house was also built without any prior approval of the AMC.

News has been filed against Prabir Bhattacharjee's wrongdoings in TIWN, but of late it has been learnt that after the TIWN has exposed the serious corruption by Bhattacharjee and his friends some departmental influence has come under the limelight. Top officials of BSNL authority along with the AMC reportedly attempted to maneuver the entire land record where he built a double storied house on the land mutationed in the name of Department of Telecom.

The corrupt officers have also been trying hard to get closure to newly appointed Chief Secretary Y P Singh to put an end to the investigation on the charges.

However, after TIWN news published, it is learnt from sources that Chief Secretary took note of it and Govt higher ups planning to initiate strong action against CCF Prabir Bhattacharjee.

But most surprisingly despite directions and advice from the District administration BSNL did not take any action to vacate the land illegally occupied by Bhattacharjee and three other retired employees of BSNL for past many years. According to the official source recently the District Administration had directed the BSNL authority to take necessary step against Bjhattacharjee.

But talking to TIWN on Thursday BSNL GM M N Angadi refused to provide any comment in this regard. However this has once again proved that the Bhattacharjee had under-table connection with the BSNL authority. He has reportedly paid a hefty amount to a top official of BSNL for not lodging case against him, as directed by Ministry of Telecommunication two month ago to General Manager BSNL Tripura.

However, despite several allegations raised against Bhattacharjee, a serious question has been raised as how come CCF Prabir Bhattacharjee under the banner of some top officials, some ruling leaders live his luxury corrupt life illegally acquiring the land of BSNL authority since past many years, also BSNL officials has not taken any necessary step against him yet today.

Therefore nothing impossible has made Bhattacharjee  to manage top officials of BSNL for not filing case against him. But it is to be mentioned here that no time left for Bhattacharjee now, as the vigilance report against him has already been tabled to CMOP office, with the state govt. would take action against him and friends very soon.
