AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): Three hundred Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans of 5th battalion from Amarpur, Duluma headquarter deputed in TTAADC election at Gandacherra which will be held on May 3 are now in a constraint of scarcity of drinking water, toilets and shelters at Gandacherra higher secondary school premises.
According to sources, the TSR jawans have been brought from their headquarter Duluma, Amarpur to Gandacherra for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election duty. But scarcity of drinking water, toilets, shelters and other facilities should be prepared for the jawans in advance has not been arranged so far.
As a result, the jawans are staying in open field in a tent. Some of the jawans are staying at varanda of the school and some of them are staying in open field. The TSR jawans said that their advance TA, DA was to be paid in advance in earlier election duty which was not paid as well.
Even the condition of the school rooms are not sufficient for them including the toilets, drinking water supply and other facilities should be maintained in the school premises in advance.
