AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): Central Government had given the final ultimatum to the Education Department of Tripura to complete the training of teachers by the year 2020. However, earlier Central had directed the State to complete the work within the year 2015. It is to be mention that, the teachers who had been appointed in the year 2001 and after the consecutive year should have to been given the training also.

According to the condition mandated by the Right to Education Bill, teachers who have completed the six-month abridged teachers’ training course will face problems because the bill has mandated full two years’ Bachelor of Education course for eligibility as a teacher.

On the other hand, having no other alternatives to avoid the Central rules, at last Government had agreed to rename the various departments in three phases. In the coming days, Sarba Siksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan will be included with other departments. No alternative name will exist.

Class-I- Class VIII will now be joined with Sarba Siksha Abhiyan and become Elementary Education Department, Class-IX- Class X with Rashrtiya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan will become Secondary Education Department and Class-XI-Class - XII should be included under Higher Secondary Department.

Yet in another decision, at least 50 percent in Graduate level along with two years training should be mandatory for the recruitment of headmasters in schools. Not only that in case of reservation of Scheduled Cates and Scheduled Tribes, strict procedure will also now be followed.

Teachers have a pivotal role to play for the sake of teaching learning. Everybody associated with the system should have the concern. Action against those found absent in an unauthorized manner must be taken firmly.  Besides that while imparting teaching in the class room, one to one interaction between the teacher and the student has to be ensured for the sake of evaluation of child’s understanding of the lesson taught.

In many of the schools it is found that teachers and non-teaching employees absent during duty hours and was forced to initiate drastic action to restore normality. However, Eighteen days of unauthorized leave of teachers had been legalized by the Government by issuing instruction that the teachers have to remain present in the school with an attendance of 95%. Such kind of instructions created grievances and whining among the teachers and academic sphere.
