AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): In a significat twist to the Kalpana Das murder case, accused husband Jiten Das’s shift to dacoity theory has put the integrity of the state police under scanner once again. The seasoned politician who was so far propagating the suicidal theory as the reason behind the death of his wife Kalpana Das has shifted to a new hypothetical version as the reason for his wife’s death. But it is not Jiten Das only who is promulgating the new theory but other family members of the accused are also supporting his speculation. Unable to convince the mass by the suicidal theory, “the wolf in disguise”, as the people are now calling him has taken help of another theory to mislead the court this time. According to the post mortem report, the death of Kalpana Das was not suicidal and the theory of Kalpana Das making three sharp cuts in three different parts of her body with the help of a shaving blade was also negated by the PM report.

How can Jiten Das and his family memberts at the same time shift to the same dacoity theory staying in different places since last Thursday? Was Jiten still using the mobile phone to communicate with his other family members even from the police lock where he is supposed to be after being arrested in Ranir bazar police station? As in normal cases the accused are put behind barsin the police station after their arrest without any communicating system under their posession. How could Jiten talk to his relatives from the police lock up to come to concode the new theory to be put forwarded simultaneously?  Was Jiten aware of the Post Mortem Report even before his arrest on Friday afterrnoon?

These are some of the questions that are doing the rounds in the various corners of the state as the people are  watching the high profile murder case relating to a veteran leader of the ruling CPI(M) in the state.

It may be mentioned here that very recently a college Professor who was acting as In- charge-Pricipal in a state Govt run college was allegedly put inside a police lock up with his shirts taken off in an allegedly fabricated molestation and sexual harrasment case in the state. The questions are being raised now about the alleged VIP treatment given to nurder accused Jiten Das in the Ranir Bazar police station. How can the police in two different police stations but under the same Home Ministry resort to two exactly different type of treatments against two different accused persons?

Is Jiten still being safeguarded by the political bosses? Only time will say what happens to Jiten’spolitical career.
