AGARTALA, April 19 (TIWN): The Government Pensioners Association of Tripura celebrated their 41st foundation day at Ujjayanta Market, here on Sunday.
President of Government Pensioners Association of Tripura Amar Nath Bhattacharjee inaugurated the programme by flag hosting.
Other members of the association were present in the programme.
It is to be mentioned here that earlier on December 10 Government Pensioners Association of Tripura submitted a 17 point charter of demands to the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
The 17 point charter of demands includes:-
1. Control in price of essential commodities, strengthening the subsidy system and to control the hike in price.
2. Fluency in Broadgage line construction, to implement the railway line upto Sabroom.
3. Pension benefit should be given along with immediate effect of Grade Pay, Gratituity, boosting from 01-01-2006.
4. To implement the National Salary Commission and to include the state into 7th Salary commission.
5. Re-imbursement should be given in case of medical emergency.
6. The amount of Die-in- harness should be extended to 2 lakhs rupees.
7. Allowances of festivals should be made 1 thousand rupees.
8. Family pension should be given to unmarried girls and divorced girls
9. At least one member of the family of the pensioner should be given employment.
10. To construct district treasury in every districts.
11. State Government should gives stress to ensure better service provided to senior citizens in every serviceable department and institution. Etc
