AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): Negligence of the authorities of G.B.P Hospital again comes to limelight. Injection of poison consumption patients is pushed to the stroke affected person.

Sources informed that a patient named Bishnu Shil (20) of Nabagram was admitted to G.B. Male Medicine Ward, Unit No-IV after consuming poison on April 13th. Few days after that , Jiban Saha of Ranirbazar Dhan Chowhumani was admitted to the same ward due to heart attack on April 16th. On Friday, afternoon, student of Indian Institute of Nursing, 1st year student Subrata Dutta pushed the injection of Bishnu to Jiban.

Within a fraction of seconds, the condition of Jiban Saha was hetting detoriated. He was immediately shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU).It is to be emntion here that at the time of pushing the injection, the teacher-in- charge of the IIN, was alsp present in the hospital for practical class with the student. But, inspite of giving guidance to the students, the authority was busy in chatting over phone.

However, after the chaos, taking the advantage of the situation, both the authority and the accused nursing student succed to flew from the spot. But on Saturdaymorning, when Subrata entered the hospital, family members of the patient, Jiban Das identified him and asked thecause of such a big mistake. Countertalks among the patient party and the student creates tensed situation in the hospital premises. It is to be emntion that the condition of Jiban Saha is now stable.

The question now arises that how the authorities of the hospital and nuesing institution becomes so much careless to risk the life of a patient in danger. During the practical classes, the concerning authority becomes busy in phone inspite of giving guidance to the students.

People say doctors take the second position after God and should keep faith on doctors like we keep faith on God. But the duty of a section of doctors here in our state Tripura figures out the real fact and the sufferings of the patients.

It is to be mentioned there that several such incidents had already occurred at Agartala GB Pant hospital where a massive negligence of the doctors came under the limelight. And this now seems to be standing tall again. It is also mentionable here that recently Health Minister Badal Chowdhury addressing a mass gathering urged the people of the state to keep faith on the Tripura doctors, and there is no need to move abroad for treatment. He also said that the state Tripura is now equipped with all modernized medical technology along with enough doctors and the nurses. But such an incidents where patients has to fall prey into the doctor’s negligence clearly figures out the fact and the current status of the govt. run Agartala GB Pant hospital.
