KAMALPUR, APRIL 13 (TIWN): Amidst the trumpeting demand of the State administration about the farmer-friendly policies and self-sufficiency, the farmers of different schemes and projects got deprived of fertilizers and pesticides. This happened as the store keeper happily sold those free of cost fertilizers and pesticides in open market.
Like other agricultural sectors and sub-divisions, Salema agricultural subdivision too got allotment of fertilizers, pesticides etc. for different schemes and projects. All those materials were to be distributed free of cost to the beneficiaries. Urea, Super Phosphate etc fertilizers and Mancozeb pesticides were provided to the sector stores. The farmers of Baligaon, Bilascherra, Mohanpur, Ganganagar areas alleged that, the store-keeper denied about any such free facilities. Then they came to know that, the store-keeper sold those free materials to retail sellers and party leaders. That although completely opposed the State Government's mission of self-sufficiency but the scenario prevails for years. Mysteriously, no action is yet planned from the part of the department.
