KHOWAI, April 11 (TIWN): Patients and attendants are suffering a lot of problems at Khowai District Hospital due to power failure. The main source of alternative power supply - solar plant - is also not functional for the past six months, making the situation remains grim.

Since six months back the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) had set up 25 KWp SOLAR Photovoltaic Power plant with at least 16 solar machines installed at the roof of Khowai District hospital. But it remained non-operational, with no alternative power to load shedding causing heavy sufferings to the patients.

Patients on Friday complained that the power outages caused due to failure of solar plant that has become a routine at the hospital. They demanded that the solar plant be made functional at the earliest.

Talking to the chief Medical Officer (CMO) P.K. Majumder in this regard he said, “I am not aware of the fact and I do not deal with this.” Later talking to District Hospital Administrative Amlan Debbarma he said, “We will look after the matter very soon.”
