AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): Special Investigation Team (SIT) will now investigate all the Chit fund related cases. A Division bench of Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta and U.B.Saha had passed this order on Thursday at High Court. The Court had also instructed IG Adam to present the status report on Chit fund by July 2. However, the Court had expressed satisfaction on the formation of the SIT Team.Earlier, The High Court of Tripura instructed the State Government to form a full fledged team to investigate all the matters related to Chit fund issues. The High Court Division bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and U.B. Saha had passed the order. Immediately a special investigation team (SIT) was formed headed by Director General of Police and Chief Secretary.It is also known that the division bench told that as it is not possible to investigate the whole matter fully by the CBI, so an alternative procedure should be adopted.

Accordingly a special investigation team should be formed necessarily. This team will further investigate all the chit fund related matters. Earlier, High Court wanted to know that if every scam case should be handed over to the CBI, then whats the role of State government is in this regard? In reply it was told that there is no experienced persons in the police department who can investigate the matter properly.

But the division bench is not satisfied with the answer and ordered for Special Investigation Team (SIT) to be formed immediately. On the basis of the writ petition filed by Anup Kumar Saha and Dipti Das before the High Court seeking their money back and CBI probe into their complaint, on Response Properties Pvt Ltd. the High court of Tripura had passed this instruction today .It is to be mention the writ petition is now converted into Public Interest Litigation.

A division bench of High Court of Tripura today asked the District Magistrate (DM), West district, the Superintendent of Police (SP) and the Officer in Charge (OC), West Agartala police station to make a statement on the progress of the complaint filed against a chit fund company.

 Later, they also met the DM and SP to get their money back by selling properties owned by the Non banking Financial Company (NBFCs). They demanded CBI probe into their complaint. As many as 50 cheated depositors had filed an FIR at West Agartala police station against Response Properties Pvt Ltd. They even met District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police seeking for a CBI probe into the case. But the concerned administrative officials ignored their plea.

At this, two depositor victims – Anup Kumar Saha and Dipti Saha filed a writ petition before the apex court seeking CBI enquiry to their complaint and to get back their money back. Here it may be recalled that the CBI had already conducted raids in Rose Valley office in some of its executives’ residences and seized some papers and documents. It has been learnt that the CBI sleuths had carried out the raids in search of evidences in connection with the case filed outside the state. Interestingly, the CBI has not lodged any FIR against the Rose Valley in the state yet.
