AGARTALA April 8 (TIWN): It seems everything is not well with the state TMC unit here. Whatever the reasons behind, the state unit of Trinamul Congress is lying almost inactive for the last many months. The last time the party was seen doing some strong opposition’s role was during the last Loksabha Election when the party fielded their candidates in both the Loksabha seats of the state. Since then the state unit of the party is keeping low in the political scenario of the state.Very recently, on Sunday last, the Vice Chairman of the state TMC, Jawhar Saha, alongwith some of the other office bearers of the state unit and their supporters had resigned from the party citing inactivity of the top leadership of the party. The state unit of the party even failed to announce their party candidates for the ensuing TTAADC elections till date and there is every doubt whether the party will be able to field candidates in the election scheduled to be held on May 3. It may be mentioned here that April 11 is the last date for filing of nomination by the candidates for the 28 member TTAADC election.Political pundits are of the beilief that the party is demoralized with the central leadership and as a fallout of that, the state unit is not in a position to keep the party united in the crucial moment.

The rumours say that even the President and Chairman of the state unit of the TMC are thinking of shifting to their original party National Congress at a favorable moment. Ever since the last General Election for Loksabha and the formation of powerful Modi Government in the centre, the state unit of the party has been kept almost unattended by the central committee of the party. The political turmoil in West Bengal  after the Sarada scam and the TMC top leadership’s alleged relationship with the chit fund company followed by the subsequent CBI action, the central  leadership of the party is keeping aside with the party’s Tripura unit’sproblems.

With no strong guidelines from the party central leadership, the state unit is in a disarray and  is not showing any enthusi asm with the recent political developments in the state due to the Rosevalley scam and the much active role played by the leader of the opposition in the state assembly Sri Sudip Roy Barman.

It is only matter of some time when the state unit of the party will go down into graves killing the supporters’ hope unstill some miracle happens and the state unit gets rejuv inated.
