AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman on Monday fired salvos in national media on Rose Valley Chit fund company in Tripura accusing Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for patronizing Chit Fund companies in Tripura. Targeting Sarkar Barman held a press conference at Kolkata Press Corner on Monday with ABP Ananda – A national media covering it LIVE from the Press Corner.Talking to the media persons at Kolkata Press Corner on Monday Barman alleged, “Chief Minister patronized chit fund companies here in Agartala to gain financial gains and momentum for CPIM party. Barman on Monday highlighted a couple of file photos that showed CM Manik Sarkar attending inauguration programs of “ICORE SUPER Cement”, “Rose Valley park” at Amtali”and promoting as ‘Brand Ambassador”. Opposition leader was forced to conduct press conference at Kolkata to reach out to National Media houses as most of the National Media correspondents in Agartala are purchased by CM Manik Sarkar and none of the senior journalists had any guts to expose Manik.Sudip alleged, “Not only with Rose valley, but Tripura CM was also found linked to other chit fund companies which existed at the state and looted crores of money from the common mass under the regime of the Left front govt.”

Sudip today also accused Mr. Model (Manik Sarkar) for providing land at subsidized rates to Rose Valley for setting up an amusement park in Agartala. He said, “According to the state govt. if the rose valley had illegally acquired the land of the state govt. to set up a park, then how come state govt. has not taken any steps against the rose valley? inspite it has patronized the chit fund company and always had a soft corner for those.” "Despite knowing about Rose Valley's business fully well, Sarkar and his government extended support to them," he added.

“The state govt. has taken all necessary steps  for encouraging the people to deposit money in all the Chit fund companies,” Barman adding indicated that when the Saradha issue has become a burning issue at West Bengal during the year 2013 (first), on the other the state govt. here in Tripura had ordered for a raid to the rose valley and other NBFCs. Barman alleged, “The raids were conducted simply for the name sake because no bank accounts of the NBFCs were freezed and neither any documents were seized.”

On the sideline of the CBI enquiry issue, Barman on Monday at Kolkata Press Corner under the LIVE coverage of ABP Ananda said, “The state govt. was having no single information and amount looted by the NBFCs; it was under the pressure of the opposition congress that the state govt. had filed only 27 cases against 24 NBFCs.” "In the first list, Rose Valley was not there. In the second list, Rose Valley's name was included but the amount of cheating money against Rose Valley and a few others was shown as very less. As a result, the CBI did not accept the cases," he added.

Barman further said,, “CM Manik Sarkar aiming to divert the mind of the people of the state has been lying that it was Tripura which has first demanded for the CBI enquiry to the NBFCs, while after the Assam government sent 11 NBFC cases to the CBI for investigation, Sarkar sent 37 cases to the central investigation agency in two phases.”

Though the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam gave rise to a huge uproar in West Bengal with several ruling party leaders coming under the Central Bureau of Investigation’s agency’s scanner, Tripura’s Left Front government is still at large, whereas the Rose Valley scam hitting the headlines Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar started facing the heat for his presence as the inaugurator and has also be termed as a “Tripura CM Manik Sarkar – brand ambassador of Rose Valley”: ABP Ananda.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is having some sleepless nights these days as the ghost of chit fund is haunting him. The situation further worsened when a leading Kolkata based news channel ABP Ananda aired a discussion on the chit funds’ operations in the Tripura. ABP Ananda quoted State's leading online portal TRIPURAINFOWAY.com for links and pictures of Manik Sarkar and Ministers like Bijita Nath promoting Rose Valley and other Chit fund companies.
