AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): With the taking of charge by Soumitra Chakma as SDM of Kailashahr Sub-Division, the work culture at the department has changed. According to the sources after taking the charge he has cleared all the pending files which were remained untouched by Ajit Sukla Das, former SDM of Kailashahar months after months.

Police were allegedly being harassed by the SDM as he kept the files pending whatever was important. Sources said earlier during the tenure of Ajit Sukla Das as SDM, people of the concerned area, whoever went to him for any basic documents like PRTC, Income Certificate, OBC certificate and others, had to wait for months after months as he had a tendency to delay with proper service to common mass.

Many times deprived people of the area lodged a complaint to the higher authorities, but no solution was brought to them. But Soumitra who joined as a new SDM to kailashahar is an officer of another kind. Source added that whatever files are provided to him he promptly takes action as a result people as well as the other officials are satisfied with his work. Since after taking over the charge of SDM, Soumitra cleared all the pending files left with the department for a months for the betterment of public as well as students.

However, following the momentum of work culture under Soumitra, locals demanded that he should be transferred permanently here at Kailashahar sub-division for the interest of public and to continue the swift work culture which the locals has been longing for the last three years.
