Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd. (TNGCL) reduces  gas price

AGARTALA, April 2 (TIWN): TNGCL had reduced gas price according to the gas pricing guidelines. TNGCL has reduced Rs 40 per kg of CNG to Rs 39 per kg , Rs 20 per unit of Domestic CNG Customers to Rs 19 per kg and Rs 23 per unit of Commercial and small industrial CNG consumers to Rs 22 per unit.

It is to be mentioned that in accordance with the para 8 of Gas Pricing Guidelines released by Ministry of Petroleum and natural gas of the Government of India, Petroleum Planning and analysis Cell vide its letter dated March 31 has notified the revised gas price to be applicable from April 1 to September 30, 2015. Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd (TNGCL) is all set to bring at least 25000 household under pipe line cooking gas supply network by next year and entire households Agartala Municipal Council (AMC) area will be covered by 2018-19.

The TNGCL, a joint venture of GAIL (India) Limited and the Tripura and Assam governments, has been supplying PNG and CNG in the city. The TNGCL has three CNG supply stations in the city and four more would be commissioned soon, officials said. According to an official, TNGCL was set to execute an Rs.57-crore business plan over the next five years to develop infrastructure for the green initiative."Agartala is the only city among 415 cities and small towns in the eight northeastern states where CNG and PNG are being used in a big way.

Transport department has already introduced 70 CNG-run buses and CNG kits would be fitted to those vehicles run either by petrol or by diesel. “About four lakh people live in the city, but the density of automobiles in this city is higher than many big cities in the country, here are over 200,000 various types of vehicles, including 4,500 auto-rickshaws, plying in the city and many such auto-rickshaws are now fitted with CNG kit.

TNGCL is a company registered under the company Act, 1956 with ROC, Shillong as Limited Company. Re-structuring of TNGCL on February 2005, with joining of GAIL as a major share holder in order to facilitate the implementation of CNG in the transport sector of Tripura.
