Agartala, March 16 (TIWN): “The prime dictum of REGA is to enable the rural needy people to earn their bread and butter by remaining engaged in meaningful works â€, remarked Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. In a review meeting held at state Secretariat, yesterday, the CM has asked al the departments and official concerned to increase the mandays as far as possible to, in the ongoing Financial Year (FY) of 2014-15.
The RD department in the meeting has informed in That as per the Management Information System (MIS) data uploading system creating 71.80 mandays in REGA Tripura is in the first position in the entire country to implement REGA. The all India figure in this regard is 33 mandays. The CM has further directed all the DMs of the state to complete the tasks of housing allotment under Tripura State Government Housing Scheme and central’s Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) within May of this year and that includes the pending works of FY 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.
Minister of Rural Development Naresh Jamatia, Chief Secretary G.K.Rao, Principal Secretary to CM, Principal Secretary of Planning Department K.Rajeswara Rao and District Magistrates (DM) of all the eight districts were present in the review meeting held at Conference hall no. 2 of Secretariat.
