Agartala, February 28 (TIWN): Making an appeal to the students and their guardians for not to be scared of swine flu, no case of swine flu was detected so far in the National Institute of Technology, Agartala, said Registrar Sumanta Chakrabarti in an official statement.
He further said that the authorities are on full alert to deal with the ailment adding that no student of NIT was tested positive for the virus.
Joint Director of Health department- Dr. Pranab Chatterjee inspected the National Institute of Technology’s hostel including its premises and interacted with the officials, students and others on February 26, said Chakrabarti.
He mentioned in the press not quoting Chatterjee, “There is no case of swine flu was detected so far in the state”. Dr Chatterjee told us that there was no need to panic as the situation was under control with all safety precautions taken against spread of the disease.
However, he urged the faculties, students, staffs and the concerned persons to be aware of swine flu but not to be scared with panic.
On the other hand, mid-term examinations for Graduate and Post-Graduate (PG) courses were started on February 26 and these are going on peacefully, he said.
