AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): “India was freed over 70 to 75 years back and our government came to power only 7 years ago. How can all problems be solved in 7 years? Only God can solve it in this short duration, not a government can do that,”Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Thursday said amid strike and protest backed by BJP’s alliance party Tipra Motha. The Minister slammed Tipra Motha leadership over the Tripura Strike which was organized by an NGO. Reacting to the strike organized by an NGO named Tiprasa Civil Society, Debbarma said that under Prime Minister Modi and mass-popular Chief Minister Manik Saha the tribal population have been given so many benefits and developments are underway.
“The Indian government held an accord with the state and definitely it will be fulfilled on time. Why won’t it happen?” said Debbarma.
“Whether they will stay with the government or quit, it’s their business. They only came for alliance with the government,” he added.
“What did the state get in 35 years? This state had only 4 Ekalavya schools and now the number is 21,” Debbarma. “The tribals are also economically progressing, too.”
