AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): A violent clash broke out in Mungiakami, Tripura, between supporters of the Civil Society's 24-hour bandh and BJP workers.
The incident occurred when a group of TIPRA Motha supporters allegedly attacked the BJP's Mungiakami power center, injuring around 25-30 BJP workers, including Surendra Debbarma, the office secretary of the BJP's 29 Krishna Pur Mandal Committee.
The attack was reportedly sparked by a dispute over the bandh, which was supported by TIPRA Motha. The BJP alleged that the attack was pre-planned to disrupt Chief Minister Manik Saha's upcoming public meeting in Mungiakami on October 24. The police intervened, and the injured were rushed to the hospital. An investigation is underway, and additional security forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
