AGARATALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): As criticism sparked over the removal of nurses' beds from government hospitals, GB Hospital Doctor, cum Super Shankar Chakraborty, said that the beds, which were sanctioned for patients, can not be allocated to the employees anymore.
"Beds are only for patients, not for employees. It is not expected that a person will be sleeping during duty hours," Chakraborty said.
''Patients will be lying on the floor and nurses on duty will be sleeping on beds --- it's not acceptable'', he added.
He added, only staff like doctors who are doing duties more than eight hours or residential doctors as interns ---- they can sleep, but only one person can sleep at a time, not multiple people.
