AGARTALA, Sep 4 (TIWN): Contactors gathered in front of the Kailashahar PWD office on Thursday, protesting against tendering issue. Local men, who belong to ruling party said they applied for the contract which for road construction and they also got the contract. An official letter was sent to them calling them to the office within 10 days of receiving the letter, they claimed.
But when they arrived, some miscreants had allegedly stopped them from entering inside, and then police force were deployed to stop them, according to the narrative given by the protesting tender applicants.
The agitators then blocked road as they were not allowed to enter the office.
Sources said that, total of three groups of people gathered centering the tender. This incident generated tension in the PWD office premises in Kailashahar.
