AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder Wednesday announced a budget of Rs. 475 for Agartala city’s development with a fiscal deficit of over Rs. 5 lakhs, which the Mayor said will be managed from other funds. “The budget is dedicated to the people living in Agartala city. It will work to improve the city infrastructure so that the people’s lives can be improved,” said the Mayor to media.
Last year the budget was Rs. 415 crores, which has been increased this year. The revenue earning has also increased for AMC.
Special focus will be put on the flood control.
“To free the Agartala city from water-logging problems, new pumps to be installed. Sakuntala road, IGM Chowmuhani, Ramnagar-4 road, Krishnanagar, Durga Chowmuhani like areas have been kept in special focus,” added Mayor.
He also said, modern technology will be used to improve the water discharging process, and funding also to be flowed to restore various water bodies.
50-bedded civil hospital is another new project that the AMC will initiate.
