Agartala, February 8 (TIWN): Ahead of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls, in order to pass the Empowerment to TTAADC, and Kokborok language of 8 schedules of Constituency bills, a delegation of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) is likely to visit Delhi to hold a meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi very soon, said general secretary of INPT- Jagadish Debbarma.

“The date of visit is yet to be fixed. We have already sent a letter to the PMO for the approval of appointment. Now we are waiting for the green signal from the PMO for the visit”, Debbarma said.

Asked about the recent insurgency activities in some places of the state ahead of ADC election, “Although, the Left Front ruled state government is preparing a full-proof security during the election, I feel that the state government is allegedly supporting the extremism for the party’s and organizational interest”, said Debbarma.

Referring the candidate selection process, “Almost all the divisional committees of INPT have recently submitted the proposed candidates name, based on which the central committee will decide the candidate list finally for the ensuing TTAADC election”, he added.

He further said, “INPT has acceptability among the tribals because since its inception, the party has been fighting for establishment of rights and talks about the sufferings of the tribal communities including creation of Inner Line Permit (ILP).” Therefore, we hoping against hope that the result of the ADC election will be in favour of the INPT, he added.

Besides, amid huge response from the people, the leaders and supporters of INPT have been conducting several campaigns to hit the best in the forthcoming ADC election, Debbarma said.
