AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): Various areas across Tripura have been affected due to heavy rain and flooding. The flood mostly affected the paddy fields, devastating the farmers for the entire financial year, and causing heavy losses. Though government has assured compensations but hardly farmers started receiving compensation from the department. Talking to a farmer in Dhanpur he said, “My field remains under water. A hopeless situation overall! No crop could be saved. We are expecting some help from the government.” Ruling BJP party leader Joydeb Sarkar, Narayan Majumder visited various areas in the Sepahijala district.
They said, the government bears a total sympathy for the farmers and the losses are still under measuring process. They promised that the government would extend all support to the farmers timely.
Due to water-logged situations, the cattle’s food which is collected from the rice plant’s remains is now getting damaged.
Overall, farmers are reeling under severe financial loss situations, with uncertainty hit them from all sides.
