AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): Tripura’s major portion is now cut off electricity services, adding huge troubles for common men with water services disruption, and nonoperational conditions of basic necessities including mobile charging points, water pump machines etc. Banking services, offices, and hospitals are heavily affected due to weather calamities that uprooted trees, disrupting power services. Remote areas in the state are affected for uncertain periods but proper town areas like Kathalia Block under Sonamura are cut off from electricity services for more than 28 hours.
Talking to a local Samarjit Pal in Maheshpur, Kakari river’s Southern part which connects the Belonia-bypass road to Kali Krishna Nagar, he expressed deep concerns about the upcoming few days if the power services are not restored.
Samarjit Pal’s house was also damaged due to the storm after a big mango tree collapsed on the home, where he along with other four family members were sitting during the storm.
A reputed local person Ratan Debnath said, “We have requested the power department about the electricity issue. Also, the Tahashildar office was asked to clean the road as the tree has blocked it. The departmental work is unexpectedly slow. They should clean the road as it’s the main way for transportation here.”
