AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): A section of Tripura Badminton Association players demanded arrest of Badminton Association Secretary Sanjib Saha for not including Tripura players in a team.
Reportedly, Tripura former Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarman, Ratan Saha led a new committee was declared under the leadership of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, terming the existing badminton team was illegal.
Then a team was sent to Delhi by the committee but the team was declared by the Badminton Association of India illegal and filed a case against them in Delhi's Patiala High Court.
In protest, the Players' Welfare Association demonstrated in front of the State Badminton Association, Sanjib Saha seeking his resignation.
They also claim that the committee headed by Sanjib Saha was formed during the illegal election. And demanded immediate resignation of all members of the committee including Sanjib Saha.
They also said that there are several financial complaints against this committee and a case has already been filed in the court. The agitators also demanded that Sanjib Saha must be arrested for his unethical activities and putting the players in problems.
