AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Amtali Police arrested a man on Thursday with Yaba tablets, Phensedyl, Bangladesh ,currency bullets, money counting machine and pistols from his residence. The suspect, identified Sundar Ali, resident of Mati Nagar area was apprehended following a tip-off from the Border Security Force (BSF). Based on BSF’s information, Amtali police raided Sundar Ali’s home and seized these illegally stocked items from his home. The seizure has sparked suspicions of a larger criminal network at play.
“Police will interrogate the arrested man to find more details about his illegal equipment's sources. Whether he is connected to a large network or operating by-self, it would come out after investigation,” said West SP Kiran Kumar.
Huge quantity of yaba tablets were seized from him along with bullets and pistols, triggering heavy suspension if a big gang is working behind him. The seizure of money counting machine indicates a huge currency exchange racket might be operational with his involvement.
The police investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
