AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Manikya on Sunday gave an ultimatum to the Govt of India to decide whether to give a constitutional solution to the indigenous people of Tripura or it wants him to go on a hunger strike. Pradyot Manikya alleged he was sitting in Delhi for 10 days without any outcome whereas earlier, the Govt of India repeatedly promised that Tipra Motha’s demands would be fulfilled. “Because there is no constitutional solution, there is an attempt to force other languages on us. There is no direct funding, halting the development. We demand a permanent solution for the indigenous people,” said Pradyot Manikya.
“Tiprasa people are not getting patta yet. So, let the Govt decide whether it will keep its promise or not, or I will go out for Hathai Kathwar (Baramura) for the strike,” he added.
A preliminary meeting was held in Agartala by Tipra Motha leaders to decide on the nature of the protest.
