AGARTALA, Feb 5 (TIWN): The Twipra Students Federation, a Tiprasa students wing in state Tripura on Monday placed a deputation to the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) seeking Roman script also should be used for exams simultaneously with Bengali. Slamming BJP MLA Atul Debbarma, a TSF leader said, “We have come to know that recently Atul Debbarma submitted a memorandum demanding that Bengali should be used as Kokborok script. He is a Doctor and an MLA. We respect him but his activities remind us about Ramayana that says ‘Ghorer Shotru Bibhishan’ (Bibhishan is the enemy of his own family).
“Just like Ravana removed Bibhishan from everything and thrown him out of Lanka, we too will be forced to do that. We do not want such a Bibhishan in our Tiprasa society,” he added.
“Who is he to decide students’ affairs? Who is TBSE President even to decide that ?” the student leader said.
“It’s our language. Let the TBSE leave the matter to us regarding what script we want. Why it is trying to impose something on us,” he said.
