AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): Food Dept raided shops in Agartala and took legal action against the businessmen who violated the guidelines.
Talking to the Food Dept Officials, they said that under the Direction of Food Director Nirmal Adhikari, they have arrived at the market to check prices of vegetables as there are reports of rising tomato, chilli prices.
During the inspections, random raids were held in some shops and in a grocery shop expired oil stocks were found and also the weight machine was not renewed. The shop’s license has been seized.
In another sweet shop it was found that instead of commercial gas cylinder, domestic gas cylinder was being used and legal action also has been initiated against that shop.
Regarding the soaring prices of green vegetable items, the officials said that already the prices are decreasing and more stocks will arrive shortly in the market and that will down the prices further.
