AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Job seekers on November 24 held a protest at Gorkha Basti, Agartala seeking jobs under MPW and ANM. The job seekers told media that over more than 5 years they are unemployed and the Govt has no concern to recruit them amid thousands of unemployed youths roaming jobless and vacant posts are existing without filling up. Many times they met the Health Director and other officials but no solution came out. Their recruitment is paused amid heavy shortage of health staffs in Tripura Health Sectors. The passed out candidates have tried to met the Chief Minister many times but could not get an appointment, Resented job aspirants displayed banners where they placed their demands on recruitment.

Not only MPW and ANM but Lab Assistants, nurses, Doctors are unemployed and deprived of regular jobs.

This month, Tripura BJP Govt’s Police displayed brutality on ANM, MPW and staff nurses after they launched a protest demanding recruitment as over 5000 ANM, MPW and Staff nurses are unemployed. As soon as they started move towards Secretariat, the Police force stopped them and forcefully arrested them. Few job aspirants including girls were injured in the police attack. But questions raise what happened to BJP’s promise of fulfilling all vacant posts under the Left Govt. Instead of recruitment, not a single ANM, MPW recruitment took place since BJP came to power in 2018.

Talking to a job aspirant in Agartala, he said, “We have been waiting for 4.5 years for recruitment but no proper answer was given to us”.

Before 2018 Election, BJP as opposition promised that within 1 year BJP Govt will provide 50,000 Govt jobs if voted into power.
