AGARTALA, Sep 30 (TIWN): Nobody thinks about the poor. When high ranked officers are getting DA to all puja advance benefits the contractual workers have no better days in this upcoming Durga puja festival. Casual employees of Health Department at IGM hospital protested after not being paid by the authority as puja advance. The deprived employees raised the issue many times to the authority but no development came. Today again the workers met IGM authority but they were told that by Finance Dept no permission was granted for festival amount.
Talking to media that deprived employees said that for last 20 to 25 years they are working and even if a little amount, but they were never deprived of that facilities but since 2021 the deprivation started.
“If they had told us this before the puja, it could help us. Now we have no money in hand”, said a worker.
