AGARTALA, Sep 29 (TIWN): It was the month of March, 2020, a rape victim’s body was found burnt in Mohanpur where BJP workers, local MLA cum Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s close people were involved but the family yet to receive justice as the case was dumped in the garbage due to political influence. Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Wednesday raised the issue and expressed resentment over the case’s status.
Barman said, nobody was arrested in the case and the final report also was submitted.
On that time after the rape incident, BJP attacked opposition leaders stopping them from entering the victim's house.
The statement came from Barman after Ratan Lal Nath allegedly continues to help various rapists in different cases including the recent rape case where Gomati Dairy chairman Samir Das is the chief accused and police did not lodge any FIR initially until Court had ordered.
“The girl in Mohanpur was burnt alive after raping and final report was also given without arresting anyone. In all such cases, a direct influence of Ratan Lal Nath was witnessed. Such incidents have driven me to write the letter to the PM. A person who shelters criminal has no right to hold the cabinet post”, said Sudip Roy Barman.
“When BJP raises Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padao slogan, Ratan Babu is helping the criminals. He is getting involved in heinous crimes..but when I raised the issue Ratan Lal Nath shouted because thieves mother always have loud voice.........”, added Barman.
