AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): Gaurav Gogoi who is the Deputy Leader of Indian National Congress in Lok Sabha has arrived in Tripura, addressed media about ongoing issues including the roars against Agnipath scheme.
Gogoi said, “Anyone who protests against the Govt’s decision is level as Anti-National and same happened to Farmers issue, though at the end, Modi Govt had to bow its head before the farmers and withdrew the farm laws. We believe that in the same way, Modi Govt will have to withdraw the Agnipath scheme too…….this scheme will make the youths again unemployed after four years service”.
The Ministry of Defence had on Tuesday unveiled the Agnipath scheme which is a pan-India merit-based recruitment scheme for enrolling soldiers, airmen and sailors. Under the scheme, young persons will be provided an opportunity to serve in the armed forces as 'Agniveer' for a period of four years, including training period.
