‘Stipend is Low, Work Load is High’: Tripura Medical College (TMC) interns called for Work Strike demanding Stipend Hikes

AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): Tripura Medical College (TMC) intern Doctors have called on Work Strike from Monday demanding their honorarium should be increased. As per duty hours and work load the stipend of interns providing service in Tripura Medical College (TMC) are allegedly less and centering this, the interns called for a work strike in TMC. Before the media the interns alleged that they are receiving 12.5 and amid it, the college are slashing the amounts showing various hostel charges. The intern informed the matter to TMC authority but no initiative the authority has taken yet. Oppositely the College authority had shown excuses of Fund Crisis to the interns. Centering this the interns held a protest movement demanding Stipend’s increase.

Talking before media the deprived intern said that the daily workers too earn more than them per day. They stated that they will not withdraw their protest until they are receiving positive response.

As per interns statement it is known that the stipend was hiked last in 2017 after that till today no amount was increased.
