UDAIPUR, March 9 (TIWN): Day after in Tripura Sundari temple’s history first-time human names were carved and Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Biplab Deb’s names were displayed on temple’s new doors, the temple has suffered through a major accident, which left two workers critically injured. The incident happened amid the controversial construction work that started under CM Biplab Deb’s instruction by destroying the century-old temple’s heritage. The temple was constructed by King Dhanya Manikya in 1501 after Tripura Sundari Goddess came in his dream. The temple has been very simple in structure and in cottage style. Architects from Bengal were hired to construct it. It is believed that Ma Sati’s body’s part had fallen on the Kurma Peeth and the first time in history under Biplab Deb Govt, Kurma Peeth was set on destruction, and bulldozers were run over the hill.
Recently criticizing the move of the Govt, Congress leader Sudip Barman asked, “Do we know at which portion Ma’s body is located ? The entire hill is known as Kurma Peeth. Running bulldozer on her home is a sin”.
No politician had dared to script their names on the temple but yesterday for the first time in history Amit Shah and Biplab Deb’s names were carved on new doors, when King Dhnya Manikya himself did not write his name.
Since Matabari was built, only Maa Tripura Sundari was the overall chief of the temple but now Biplab Deb himself has become chief of Matabari committee. Amid all these odd happenings, after such an accident happened, workers are now afraid to continue Kurma Peeth demolition works. At the same time, local people of Udaipur are blaming the Govt for disturbing the balance of Tripura Sundari temple which made the Goddess angry.
The injured persons identified as Haralal Singha (Kolkata), Parimal Munda (Dharmanagar).
