AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Joint movement committee (JMC) of 10323 teachers on Saturday held a press meet about the burning issue of the increasing death toll of the terminated teachers and other legal issues. Addressing media at Agartala Press Club, JMC member Bijoy Krishna Saha said, “In the battle of 127 para, we have lost our 127 colleagues. At first, we expressed our sorrows and condolence to the unfortunate demises. In 2014, the judgment of Tanmoy Nath came out, and then from time to time, the Govt went to the Supreme Court. Then we lodged an RTI asking, whether we (10323 teachers) were made a party in the ad-hoc and termination case, but the Supreme Court now has released the RTI report saying, we were never a party”.
Reading out the RTI, Bijoy Krishna Saha declared the RTI reply copy words, “…….I am to inform you as per the record, you are not a party in the SLP No 18993219049/2014 title the State of Tripura Vs. Tanmoy Nath”.
“Now when the Supreme Court has declared that we are not party then how were we terminated? Our salaries were stopped. We are the first employees who sought a termination letter from the Govt because we had this paper in hand. We have around 17 to 18 such copies of RTI. Right now, we are not releasing them”, said Saha.
JMC further announced that on 1st March, JMC will lodge FIR in various police stations against the Govt.
