AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Manikya has left a comment on his social media over Sudip Barman’s resignation from the BJP party and post.

Pradyot Manikya has said that he is not at all astonished by the decision of Barman.

In his social media account, Pradyot Manikya said, “Regarding today’s development many journalists are calling me up and asking my reaction. So here it goes

so that no one will misquote or twist my statement ....” I am not surprised at the resignation of Sudip Barman as he had already made it clear to me a long time ago that he was frustrated and upset with the government. In fact I am surprised that it took so long to take this step. It is his decision to choose what he wants to do next “ . Tipra an independent political movement and this is an internal matter of the BJP so we would not like to comment further on this matter . We will not dilute or compromise on position”.

Sudip Roy Barman and Pradyot Manikya both were leading Congress state figures in this state in the long run. From 2017 end to 2019, both leaders had quitted Congress as Sudip Barman joined BJP for the sake of changing the then Left Govt and in 2019  over internal party issues and ideological differences, Pradyot Manikya quitted as Congress State President.

Yesterday, BJP two MLAs Sudip Barman and Asish Saha quit party and MLA posts. They left for Delhi with 3 more BJP MLAs giving a surprise to the BJP State leadership.
